• Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What is Wayward Collective?

Wayward Collective is a grassroots nonprofit cooperative focused on promoting self-reliance through community-sponsored classes, workshops, and mutual aid. We also support Wayward Nature Preserve — a private land stewardship project in Northern Arizona.

    2. What kind of events and classes do you offer?

We’re currently in the building phase and do not yet host classes, but our long-term goal is to offer regular workshops in DIY skills, wellness, natural building, survival, and sustainable living as our collective grows.

    3. How can I get involved?

You can become a member, donate to our community fund, volunteer your skills, or help us grow by spreading the word. We’re looking for people who believe in community resilience and practical knowledge-sharing.

    4. Where are you located?

Our core operations are based in Arizona. The Wayward Nature Preserve is near Williams, Arizona, but it’s not open to the public due to land use restrictions.

    5. What makes Wayward different from other organizations?

We’re focused on long-term resilience, not short-term trends. We don’t just teach skills — we’re building a foundation for an intentional community rooted in integrity, sustainability, and mutual support.

    6. How does membership work?

Members contribute a monthly fee that goes toward funding future classes, events, and infrastructure. In return, members gain early access to opportunities, community resources, and a voice in how the collective grows.

    7. Is Wayward Collective a registered nonprofit?

Yes. We’re a nonprofit cooperative registered in Arizona with a board of directors and a mission to serve the community over profit.

    8. Can I teach a class or host a workshop?

Not yet — but we’d love to hear from you. We’re building a network of future instructors, so if you have a skill that promotes self-reliance or sustainable living, let’s connect.

    9. Can I visit the preserve?

The preserve is private and not open to the public, but we hope to invite select members and volunteers in the future to help with restoration, planting, or small retreats.

    10. How do I donate or support your mission?

You can support us through donations, becoming a member, offering your time or skills, or simply sharing our mission. Every bit helps move us toward a stronger, more connected future.
